The purpose of the first settlement was to raise crops and cattle to feed soldiers encamped at the Presidios of Monterey and San Francisco. San Jose became the first official colony with families since only the Franciscans, who founded the 21 California Missions under direction of Father Junipero Serra, had previously accompanied the early explorers.
Traces of this historic past can be seen nestled among the modern high-rises and contemporary atmosphere.

From Le Baron: Exit the parking lot to your right and proceed down North First Street toward the airport until you come to Metro Drive. Take a left onto Metro and then take your second right into Metro Plaza. Go into the parking garage and follow the signs toward building 181. Unify is located on the third floor in suite 300.
From Hotel De Anza: Exit from the front of the hotel and turn left onto Santa Clara Street. Go straight and make a left onto North First Street. Proceed on North First Street until Metro Drive. Turn left onto Metro. Take the second right into Metro Plaza and go into the garage. Follow the signs to building 181. Unify is located on the third floor in suite 300.
From San Jose Hilton and Towers: Exit the hotel and turn right onto
Almaden Blvd. Proceed straight down Almaden and then turn right
onto Santa Clara Street. Then turn left onto North First Street.
